These are the rules for Paradise Lost. Staff reserves the right to change/modify them as we see fit, so please check back on occasion.
OOC Rules:
1) No flaming, spamming, or trolling. No one wants your drama splattered all over the board, and the Staff will take immediate action against offenders. If you have an OOC issue with someone, either take it to PMs or contact the Staff with your complaint.
2) No advertising anywhere but in the designated forum. Misplaced ads will not only be deleted, but they will count as spamming, and you will be summarily warned.
3) Paradise Lost is an intermediate/advanced role-playing board with a mature rating. There will be content of a violent/erotic nature, and Staff is not responsible for any underage viewing/membership of such content. We also expect that our members be at least mostly coherent in their grasp of grammar, spelling, and the English language as a whole. Any thread with mature content is required to have a warning of such either in the title or at the beginning of the post.
4) All characters require Staff approval before they can be played. Please do not play your characters before they have been approved. On this note, Staff would appreciate it if you did not harass us just because we didn't jump on your bio thirty minutes after you posted it. We'll get to it as quickly as we can, don't worry.
Staff also can and will post revision notes to bios we feel have need of it. Please do not take offense to this. Part of our job requires us to make sure your character fit within the realm of the world, and the game that we have created in it. It's nothing personal; we're just doing our job.
5) No canon characters will be played on this board, nor can you have characters related to any of the canons from the movie. We prefer original characters here; the Omaticaya tribe as a whole will not be played.
6) Do NOT post any pictures of your characters in your application prior to acceptance. If your bio is approved, you may then decorate your designated thread with whatever you desire--HOWEVER, keep images within the width limitation of the board (700 px).
7) Respect your Staff. We're generally an easy-going pair, but respect is a two-way street. If you show us that you are willing to work with us and demonstrate an adequate level of veneration, you'll be be more apt to get on our good sides.
8) Upon posting up an application on the website, you have two weeks to complete it. If you feel that it'll take you more than two weeks to write the bio, then simply don't post it until you have a finished product. Bios left alone over this period of specified time will be archived.
IC Rules:
9) No power playing or god-modding. At all. Your characters belong to you, and other members' characters belong to them. Do not play anyone else's characters for any reason; if your post should call for it, then obtain permission from the character's player beforehand.
10) In character actions have in character consequences. If your character is caught breaking the rules or otherwise doing something that would result in reprimand, expect them to be reprimanded to the extent of the crime they have committed. If you can't handle the punishment, don't do the crime.
11) Keep it realistic in regards to the realm we're playing in, IE don't introduce an alien race from another franchise or story. If you have an idea you'd like to run by the Staff, then do so via PM.
12) Both applications and in character posts are to be written in third person.
