Could I please get some clarification about the timeline.
USS Green Mother achieved orbit in 2181 and once the scans were complete, the diplomatic team went down to try and reach an agreement with the local clans. Did the teams shuttle down to the surface and back up again inbetween diplomatic envoys or was there a temporary base that was used? I ask for several reasons:
1. It seems unlikely that there was a continuing presence on the Pandoran surface until the diplomatic agreements were reached. Given the history and care with which the mission worked to gain the local clans' trust, a permanent presence on the planet prior to said agreements would only be detrimental at best. At worst, it would be dangerous.
2. What happened to the personnel that weren't part of the diplomatic mission? Were they just staying there on the ship, cognizant and using up finite food, water, and air resources? If not, were they in cryo the whole time or defrosted in shifts to minimize danger of complications with cryo? That way they would have some unfrozen time before getting put back under again, minimizing unnecessary resource use.
I know that there are some that are tying this into their bios and it would be helpful to have a better idea how this period of time leading up to the beginning of scientific operations on the planet.
I, for example, wasn't considering the possibility of having a 5 year period of time to account for after the initial trip to Pandora. Any clarification on this would be appreciated.
