Name: Alek'seh
Age: 22
Secret Word: --
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Simply put, confused.
Race: Na'vi
Tribe: Itami
Mount: Ki'Wa - Pa'li. Alek'seh's dire horse is of similar stature to the other of her kin, complete with the segmented panels arching down her body and the fleshy crest fanning over her neck. Her skin is deep silver in color, with the characteristic stripes of crimson jaggedly painted along her neck, limbs and flank.
Physical Description:
Alek'seh possesses no outstanding traits that set him apart from his fellow Na'vi, save for his general lacking in the height department. He is a lithe creature with broad shoulders and slender hips, built for agility as opposed to brute strength. His skin is an almost incandescent azure with darker bands sweeping back along his face, neck, torso, arms and legs. While generally devoid of scars, considering Alek'seh tends to avoid any close combat, his flesh is decorated with a few tattoos; the most prominent of the trio that he has acquired is a rich, sinuous collection of tendrils of deep cobalt that originates on the expanse of his shoulder blade and slowly winds down around his upper arm, coming to a close on the inside of his elbow. The second and third are smaller tribal insignias, one of his family origin, the other a signature of the Itami, inked into his left hip and upper chest, respectively.
Like his fellow brethren, Alek'seh sports a broad, blunt nose and shimmering golden eyes with the barest hints of sage encompassing his pupils. His dark hair is rarely ever braided, save for the queue that hangs down past his shoulder, and as a result is often a tousled mess that hangs about his face. The bioluminescent markings pepper the delicate route of his nervous system, concealed only by the clothing the young Na'vi dons.
With absolutely no intention of pursuing warrior-hood, Alek'seh outfits himself in garb that only a hunter would wear. Leather bracers fashioned after the hide of hexapedes cover his forearms, with matching greaves that wrap firmly around his shins. A layered sarong hangs low on his hips and falls to roughly knee level, a little more concealing than the typical loin-cloth that other Na'vi clad themselves in, with a designated opening made for his sweeping tail.
Personality: Alek'seh is a generally mild-tempered Na'vi, quiet and observant where others are outspoken. Na'vi generally are a proud people, sure and swift and deadly...but Alek has never quite found himself fitting into these categorizations. He is undeniably clumsy, and makes it a point to avoid trees at all costs, considering he's taken more than his fair share of tumbles out of them. He can be graceful if he actually tries, can kill if his prey is standing stock still, and ride his Pa'li if it doesn't try to buck him off. That said, Alek has always felt a little out of place in spite of his endeavors to be a good and useful member of his tribe. He does his tasks and chores assigned by his superiors, but it is usually with the least amount of finesse as possible.
That aside, Alek is a loyal being with a big heart. He does not consider himself a loner and he does not try to avoid his peers and family, but he has never had an easy time fitting in. He certainly puts his best foot forward when with his kin, whether it comes to ceremonies or hunts, but it is rare that he proves to be the best craftsman or hunter. Alek has come to terms with his seemingly endless spell of mediocrity, but that isn't to say that he does not try.
His sexuality never ceases to amaze him. While it is perceived as utterly fruitless for same sex matings to even be considered, Alek has found himself attracted to both the male and female gender. Commitment is something that has never crossed his mind, though his parents have spent ample time suggesting that he speak with some of the more outgoing females of the Itami tribe. Still, though, Alek has yet to find a suitable mate.
Talents:
Judge of Character: Alek'seh may not possess any outstanding traits that set him apart from from his fellow Itami, but he has earned the reputation of being able to read people. Even with the most minimal of contact, he has a knack for understanding his peers on a different level than most, and more often than not finds himself dwelling on his little ability. There are times where he's wished that others would not come to him simply to seek advice, but to actually take the time to get to know him.
Riding: Though he can be a klutz, Alek's skill with his Pa'li is not subpar. It may take time, but once straddling Ki'Wa and the tsahaylu is established his attention focuses enough to keep him centered and on his mount. The Pa'li seems to have an infinite amount of patience for his slow ways.
History: Fortunately for Alek'seh, he was born far after the war had occurred on Pandora. This did not mean that he did not hear of it as he grew, however; the elders in his tribe, including his parents (Who did not in fact participate in the war), spoke extensively of the damage the humans had wrought upon their home, of the repercussions of what had happened so many years prior.
Regardless of the general negativity surrounding any talk of the Sky People, the young Na'vi could not find it in his heart to condemn them entirely, a trait that followed him as he matured. He was consistently a devoted and passionate pupil and tribal member, striving to do his best. This proved to be a difficult thing for him to cope with, however, since his ambitions never yielded stunning results like his peers. When most appeared as if they would be the best singers, dancers, hunters and even warriors, Alek'seh was struggling to keep up. His natural passivity allowed others to outshine him, and as a result, he has grown into a quiet hunter without the desire to be anymore than what he is.
Being an only child, he has suffered the initial disappointment of his parents when it became apparent that he had no intention of pursuing the trials of being a warrior. There was never any sense of discord in their familial bond, though, and both Talaya and D'raewka loved and continue to love their only son to this day.
Just because the Na'vi did not see himself completing the venture up the Iknimaya did not mean that he wanted to be entirely unhelpful. He took to his training as a hunter with utmost seriousness, striving to perfect his skill with a bow (Something he is still working on) and strengthen the bond with his beloved Ki'Wa. If not tagging along on the hunting trips across the rolling plains of his moon, he can be found doing his own training even at the age of twenty two with his Pa'li. Some claim it sheer luck that he managed to down the hexapede, but Alek elects to ignore such doubt and spend his time bettering himself.
Sometimes his brief ventures from the main campsite take him close to the Sky Peoples' new settlement, but his ambivalence towards their presence lets him remain neutral. He would certainly never hurt one if contact was made, but he really has no intention of crossing paths with one.
