Name: Rain Elizabeth Parker
Age: 26 (with the six years of cryo)
Secret Word:
Gender: female
Sexuality: heterosexual
Race: Human
Occupation: Anatomist (I think that's the name of someone who has studied the human body. I know the study is called anatomy)
Human Physical Description: Rain has features that, upon anyone else of the human race, would be ordinary and mundane. However, this girl makes them look unique, setting her apart from all others with the same features. Her hair is the shade of honey, a warm honey. However, there are undertones of a rich milk chocolate add a variety of natural highlights and lowlights in her silky locks. Her lovely mane extends to her clavicle and is in natural messy wave, giving her the look that is usually referred to as bedhead. She usually doesn’t pay much attention to her hair, usually just letting it air dry and brush it. She has more important things to do, after all.
The shade of Rain’s eyes are a normal color, a dusky dark chocolate color. However, her eyes are an almond shape and are framed by a smothering of dark lashes. Her eyes, she has been told, are like a gate way to her soul, displaying all emotions and twinkling with her pure happiness. Along with a pair of full lips, the color of a dusted rose, and a slightly pinched nose, her features are set upon and aristocratic face. Her high cheekbones, narrow jaw, and long neck add to her noble looks.
Her skin is natural creamy peach, slightly tanned from being in the outdoors so much. As for her height, Rain is no shorty. Standing at a tall five feet and ten inches, she is like an amazoness compared to most girls that she has ever met before. She is rather skinny, but not sickly so and has a slim build. But, beneath her slim physique are a set of well developed hidden muscle. She may look like some freakishly tall girl, but she pack quite a punch.
As for her clothing style, it tends to range, depending on her mood for the day. Some days, she’ll feel like being pretty and will dress up, wearing a lovely sundress. Other days, she might feel like being lazy and just wear a pair of pajamas. But, more than likely, one will see this girl in a pair of worn our jeans, some cute graphic tee (or just a plain one), and her favorite pair of black and pink Converse high tops.
Avatar Physical Description: Like her human form, Rain is taller than most females in her avatar form as well, reaching a height of nine feet and six inches. However, besides this one thing, she is very much like every other avatar that tries to blend in with the Na'vi people. With light blue skin as a base color, an additional dark blue tiger striping covers her figure. Her eyes are rather large, even for those of the Na'vi and avatar's, and are an iridescent gold, dark around the rims and a light shade of forest green coloration around the pupil. They, like most others, are large and cat like, framed by long lashes and radiating her curiousity, innocence, and interest. Her face is framed by a shock of midnight locks, long and braided to keep out of the way.
Along with the high cheekbones that are gained with being Na'vi likeness, a set of feline like ears are set upon her head, along with a snout, adding to the catlike resemblance that this species has. However, it is the tail that adds most likeness. Long and blue, tipped at the end by a tuft of hair, resembling that of a fur tipped tail, it allows for balance and lithness. Her form also follows the staple Na'vi physique, a slender and wiry build, good for running and gliding amongst the tree's high above the ground. Unlike the natives of the land, her genetically engineered body has five fingers and toes, compared to the 4 of each sets. With long limbs, straight posture, and tail, she is filled with a grace she could never hope to gain in her true form.
Her bilouminescent markings go across her eyebrows, before meeting at her nose and going down the bridge in great clusters. They then branch off to go under her eyes and around, connecting with the spots above her eyebrows. As for the marks on her forehead, their are many, joining together to look like the stars in the sky. From them on, their are random dots around her nose. Under her bottom lip, two dots are found that start a line that lead down her chin and to her neck as they then lead to the rest of her body in clusters of swirling patterns and straights lines.
Personality: Rain is known for being simple in character, yet all the more complex than anyone that one will ever meet. To put it directly, she is a creature of pure happiness, always putting on a smile that brightens up a room. She even shows this bright expression when she is down, not wanting anyone to worry over her and fuss over her. She is a very bubbly person with a bounce in her step and a hum emitting from her throat, she is basically the poster child for happiness. However, she is very smart, yet she is quite clueless and blonde as well.
Along with this happiness is a caring and loving nature that most find endearing. She has a love for all living things and hates to see anything killed. However, this does not make her a vegetarian. As she says, “I love animals, but I love eating them more.” She believes that if it is killed, it must be needed. However, she is whole-heartedly against killing animals just for the sport. It’s against her sense of justice. If you kill an animal, you must be in need of it and you must treat it kindly before you kill it. Those that abuse animals before killing them off are giving that creature one horrible life and there’s a special place in hell for them, along with child molesters and people who talk in the theater. (quote by Shepard from Firefly…sorta)
Along with her childlike happiness and mother like caring, she is a creature of innocence. Somehow, she lived her life on Earth without being corrupted by all that was around her. She believes that in everyone, no matter how hidden and far inside the heart, is a good soul. All those that are evil in the standards of her people have meerly lost their way and cannot see the path that is good.
Rain is also a very loyal and friendly individual. She loves talking to people and making new friends and she will protect them to the best of her ability. And though she tries to see the good side of everyone, if anyone dares make fun of or hurt someone precious to her, she will not hesitate to stand up for said friend.
Talents: Rain, for lack of a better word, is a genius. She was able to complete an entire education needed to be in college and on this trip by the time she was eighteen. She basically has a photographic memory and is able to remember almost everything and everyone she ever sees. However, this doesn’t stop her from being ditzy. She is quite the artist as well, having received the talent from her mother and drawing from a young age. She mostly draws cartoon characters, finding their rounded portraits and large eyes much more pleasing than the sharp and serious expressions of humans. Aside from these, Rain is musically talented as well. She has a rather lovely voice and is a natural at the piano and violin.
However, Rain is not what one would call athletic. Even though her slim build might lead one to think that, Rain never found much joy in the mindless act of running or hitting a ball. No, she focused more on her studies and the arts, leading her to where she is now. But, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to defend herself. Thanks to the only physical exercise her parents could get her to do, martial arts, she is deceptively strong.
History: Rain’s life has never been that of a simple, ordinary girl that one sees walking down the street. She discovered upon a rich couple’s doorstep shortly after she was born, a piece of paper reading only one word beside her; Rain. This young couple, newlywed, had just discovered that the wife was sterile and unable to have child. What a great opportunity it was for such a little baby to be found shortly after. Of course, this couple took the tiny baby in and used the word that was found with her as her name. From then on, the little abandoned baby on the doorstep was Rain Elizabeth Parker.
The little girl was raised in a life of luxury, given everything she wanted and asked for. However, she was also taught by her parents from an early age, both right from wrong and morals that one would need to be of good character. Little Rain soaked all this information that was handed to her up, listening to everything that her parents told her and always trying to behave herself. She never wanted to disappoint the only two people in her life, even as a little kid.
As well as being taught the morals that every person should possess, she tested by her parents on a regular basis to see how her brain was and if she would be able to make it in this troubling world on her own. And, to their astonishment, she went above and beyond anything they had ever anticipated. She had a natural talent at music, picking up both the piano and violin, as well as having a great voice. They also came to find she had an amazing memory and that she was very smart.
As she went to school, starting at the same time as every other kid her age, she was allowed to progress through the levels of her school system easily, skipping several grades in leaping bounds. Though her parents were concerned that she wouldn’t be able to be a regular kid if she did this, her grandparents that were hardly ever around encouraged this skip, saying it was what was best for the girl. And, as the parents always listened to their own mothers and father, they had their daughter skip grades and grades.
Finally, she was enrolled in college at the age of thirteen, finishing in the years and years it takes to get a PhD in only six years. And so, at the age of nineteen, she was out of college and looking for a good job with her new Anatomy. And that’s when she was approached by several people, offering her a job that would lead her to the far away planet of Pandora. They had seen her records and how smart she was and they wanted to have her on the team, researching the Na'vi and just how many similarities they have with us.
She knew the trip was to be expensive. And so, like any other young person who didn't know what to do about paying something, she went to her parents. All though they were not happy about the proposition and the fact that their daughter had wanted to leave the Earth, they saw how much she wanted to go and be a part of something special. And so, her parents payed for her trip, telling her it was no big deal, it was just money, they could earn more later. But, this was a once in a lifetime kind of thing and they wanted her to be happy.
Though she would miss her family very dearly, she knew that this job she really wanted. And so she accepted with her parents consent and money to pay for the trip, studying for the next year to learn all about the planet and its inhabitants and language, as well as training to use an avatar. Thankfully, she was able to get much done within the time and by the age of eighteen, she was ready to go. After saying good bye to the people that raised her, having found out that they adopted her several years before, she left for the six year journey to the planet, wondering what she was going to experience.
RP Sample: A heavy sigh escaped the powder rose colored lips that were Rain’s as she boarded the ship that she would be asleep on for the next six years. She dearly missed her adopted family already, even though she had yet to even leave the Earth. She wondered how they were going to do while she was away. Hopefully, they would stay healthy for a long time to come and wouldn’t miss her to greatly. But, she really wanted this job. She had heard of the planet Pandora here and there as a child and had always had a sort of dream to visit this place that had such unfriendly creatures. She wanted to see what she could learn from its inhabitants and from its wildlife.
Thinking back, she really was lucky for the life that she had lived up until this point. Parents, although not truly biologically hers, that loved her. She didn’t care that they were not the one’s that had really given birth to her. They had raised her with love, giving her things she wanted but also scolding her if she did something wrong. They had been the most loving and the best parents one could ask for and for that she was truly blessed. And though she was an only child for her life, as her parents never adopted another, they had always given her a pet, making sure she learned that she would have to take care of them eventually and that they were dependant on her when she got old enough. It was like having a baby sibling, the way she had to watch over her cat or dog when she was old enough to understand and take care of another living thing besides herself.
She was also able to make many friends along the eighteen years that she had spent on this Earth from all different ages and genders. Sure, most of her friends where much older than she, they were more like older brothers and sister to her and she loved them all very dearly. She would also miss her pet cat. So much so, it was just as hard to bear as leaving her family and friends. But, she couldn’t bring the fluffy calico with her and she knew that the little princess would rather live her life of luxury that live on some unknown planet far, far away.
And most of all, she was lucky to have been selected from amongst many others far more talented and experienced than she to go along with this peaceful program. Why would they pick her? Where was the logic in it? The answers to these questions that she often thought about in her alone time did not procure and answers. And so, she just left it at that, knowing that dwelling on these quandaries would get her nowhere and would only give her a headache.
And so, after thanking God, or really anything that was or could possibly be all mighty and all knowing, she boarded the ship and went through the procedures of putting them to sleep for their long journey. And once she was out, frozen in a perfect stillness, she was out. She would not dream for the next six years. Would not eat. Would not sleep. But that was ok, for she knew that an amazing adventure awaited her. And that was the last happy thought, or really any thought, that she had before she was asleep, not to wake up for quite some time.
