Name: Ak’nari Kxtali
Age: 35
Secret Word:
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Race: Na’vi
Tribe: Rokure
Mount: Ikran
Ki’tim - While Nari may never have gone a day riding a Pa’li, he definitely was born to fly a Ikran, and it is this gift which gives him his purpose. This beast which he rides is not in anyway small, and is one of the largest he has ever seen in his life. It doesn’t come near the Toruk in anyway, shape or form, but it is quite the animal when its wings are outstretched, and it is flying through the air. Everyone has a rough first go, and Nari’s was no different, but what made him different was the rate at which the pair bonded. They quickly become one unified pair, and they were eternally one to fly together till the day one of them died. Which, hopefully would also be as one, for Nari doubted Ki could live as successfully without him as he could without her.
The markings which make up this Ikran are both dazzling, and magnificent in nature. Blue tones run up it and down it, making natural twists up the length of its body, as well as down the stretches of her arms. Dark yellows, and oranges mix in with this colouring to add a feeling as if it was painted with pastels, but is as lifelike as the fingers on his hands. It was incontestably the most beautiful thing he had ever laid witness to in his life, and in turn he has become totally encapsulated with the power he wields while he rides. There is no doubt that he is the son of an Ikran, and their customs.
Physical Description:
Ak'nari has the lithe body structure, and form of his many brothers and sisters of the Na’vi, but strength too lies in his firmly built muscle. While not the strongest among his clan, he would be considered among some of the more mighty. Neigh is it in his strength, nor his might wherein lies his true power, but it rests in the quick reflexes, and decided agility he posses. Among these strengths also lies his intuitive nature, the raw power of his intellectual mind, which is vast. Like the devote follower of her divinity he is, Ak’tiri allows the spirit of Ewya to flow through him, and uses her divinity as a guide, or perhaps a light by which to follow with.
Features cover his face, angular in design, but flawless in their perfect individuality which shines about his face. Flecked with the luminescent dots of the Na’vi line his face centred around his cheeks, but going from his chin to cover his entire body with the light dots. Deep eyes glow a mixture of light browns, and a variety of yellows to create a feline look to the look of his sombre eyes. Long braids of twisted braids come down his back to make dreadlock like tassels which fall down his back, the longest of which extends his nervous system so he can connect to all the animals, plants, and creatures around him. Sharp, vicious teeth are perfectly white, and aligned used often to scare predators, as well as those who mean him wrong.
While this child of Ewya is very tall, he isn’t the tallest of his clan, instead there are a few males who are a few centimetres taller than him. Even though, Nari is still much larger than many of his fellow clans men, this may also be attribute to part of his strength, for he is strong. Still there is no more bulk on him than any of his brothers, he is lean, tight muscles twist around his body to move the ligaments in his body. Part of his height is made up of his long, muscular legs which display quite the impressive calf and thigh muscles which help him with his speed.
Even though he lives among the heights of the mountains, and it is often cold this Na'vi wears the garb of his people. The majority that covers him on a day to day basis is the woven threads which make up the loin cloth, decked out in different beads and gems he has found through out his ventures through the mountains and in the sky. Along with this he likes to wear a very innate, and finely adorned necklace which is barely long enough to cover the span of his neck, but was made from similar materials as that of his loin cloth. Along with a head band which he wears most of the time, that is all the clothes he really wears on a day to day basis, there is never another occasion which really calls for more or less than that.
Light blue skin covers his face, the high cheekbones which are characteristic of most of his race, and the entirety of his body. A long tail goes down his back, and while it isn’t prehensile, it is very useful for balance, and scaling small, narrow branches. All of the bioluminescent dots which cover his body are exactly symmetrical, and he has learned how to figure out what Na’vi around him are feeling by the colour they glow. Nari is perfectly, and completely Na’vi.
Personality:
Perhaps it is the past which his people have lived, or the recent hardships they’ve had to endured, but like his people he is strong willed in stature. Hardy, unwilling to break into the situation at hand, he would rather die than allow his beliefs and traditions be broken by anyone. However, he is open to change, not in the sense that he will let anyone who thinks they’re something to change his way of life, but there’s a certain amount of spring to him. While he is a hard man to initially present yourself to, he will either reject you, or he will accept you. For certain first impressions are a big part of this man, and a lot of his past has made it even more important that he make his first feelings be the truest ones he follow.
When a people are so historically based its hard to ignore the fact that he is connected to his past in more than just stories and remnants. No, their souls live on in him as he listens to their cries through the Tree of Souls, and through the past which they left imbedded in his mind. Much of their lives belong as truly to him as they do to themselves, and he remembers that as he goes through his life. Not only is he creating his own future, but the world his predecessors will dwell in for the rest of eternity, something he’d rather not screw up. A lot of this man is made up of moral obligations, and feelings of pride which he feels are one of the reasons which he was set upon this world. To better it.
There’s a pacifistic air about this Na’vi, different from the human form of pacifism, but just perfect for the way of life on Pandora. It isn’t so much that he refuses to kill so much as to committee himself to any form of violence. When you harm something out of necessity, kill something because you must eat it there is nothing wrong with that, but when forced to bring pain unduly, he feels there can be no retribution for that. These are the morals by which Nari lives, and can anyone counter or falsify them? Some might think he is a warrior from his appearance, and his general outlook on life, but he has simply adapted to the world around him, which calls for peace.
Flying, it was such a perfect thing for him, as natural as lifting his finger or using his tail for balancing purposes. Oh, it was such a flawless extension of his body that it was a wonder he wasn’t born on the back of a Ikran. Perhaps that was part of the reason he had never picked a mate, never chosen to delve himself into another Na’vi, he was more attached to these animals than he was to another of his own race. Well, there were many thing which had led to his decision not to mate with anyone, but that could just be one of those little things which pushed him along the path to almost pure asexual tendencies. Some in the tribe think he’s being greedy, and pretentious, but he does not see it as that, its something entirely too different to be that.
While he does view violence as a negative thing, he is also prepared to fight in whatever way necessary when violence turns to a valiant fight. When in defensive mode this Na’vi is an aggressive fighter with an incredibly offensive fighting style, not caring to allow himself to be caught off guard. In his opinion it is best to cut them out while they are strong, and cut away their strength while they are first attacking to make the fight as short as possible. While he might look slightly awkward on land due to his connection to flying, he is a surprisingly good fighter, something which seems odd to many of his fellow Na’vi. To prolong a death would be a very sadistic thing to do, something which he would not allow himself to succumb to.
At the moment it seems to him that humans are not going to be the immediate destruction of their planet. Yes they once messed up, but he does not believe they will do it again, however he also isn’t willing to go out of his way to be part of their world. Neutrality is a wonderful thing, and he’d rather stay right where he is so that they could come to him rather than him going to their base far away from the area which he lives in.

History:
Born thirty-five years ago at a time of great change in the Na’vi way of life, Nari can not remember a time when the humans didn’t inhabit the planet along with his species. From a young age he realised they weren’t like them, they weren’t the same, but his people tolerated them, so he did as well. It was sort of a relationship which was rocky from the start, and ever since there hasn’t been much room for movement on either part. When he was very young the battle took place between the two parties, this child was still too young to partake of it and stayed at home as his people were rallied to fight. It was hard to see people around him die, and he be impervious to fight alongside him. This was when it struck him the most, when he realised how futile it was to cause another being senseless harm, they were too ignorant to see what impact they would cause on someone if they killed a child’s father or mother.
Perhaps his views on this were brought up because that was exactly what happened to him, in the battle his mother was hit by one of the RDA’s abominations. There was much hate in his heart at this time, scorn for those who had taken such a valuable part of his life from him. All he could think of was how hideous these people were, but then again there were those who weren’t like the ones who had attacked. That one who had come to their tribe, who had taught him some of the English they spoke, his name was Kyle, a scientist. That man was kind, he just needed to be taught about their life, but he valued Ewya in the same way Nari himself valued her. These people remained in his heart, but there were walls which were brought up at this point around the idea of more humans on his world. For certainly it was his, and his alone.
As a child he was destined to mate to one of the Na’vi his age, they were so perfect for each other. So much of his childhood had been based on the idea that they might be forever together, and then as some stories go tragedy struck. It was a few years after they had left, and their medicines had gone with them. Even now Nari wonders if she would have lived had they been here, but she died of some disease none of their herbs, or remedies could cure. It was such a sad sight, to see the life drain from her eyes slowly day after day, and be helpless to do anything. It was the second time which he had felt helpless, and the Na’vi knew he could never know hate for those humans again. For while they had messed up once they did know good, and their lives were totally in vain.
The experiences of his life affected him in an odd way which was only sped along by his father who now was the only one who really raised him. This figure taught him to love the world, to feel the spirit of Eywa, and all the different beings which inhabit her planet. This included the humans who left what felt like an eternity ago to him, if they ever chose to come back.
About this time was the moment of his coming to be a man, the prime example of Rokure life which every child must go through to become a man. The catching, and taming of a wild Ikran to be bonded with forever to the single creature. It was what he had heard about, been told about, and the only thing he now worried was that he wouldn’t life up to his father, and the others of the tribe who were masters at flying. Fortunately for him when he got on the back of his Ikran it was so simple, of course at first he had a little bit of troubles, but that didn’t stop him. Before he knew it he was taken seriously, and considered a man among his people, something he had always hoped for.
A long time ago they came, and when they left many thought they were gone for good, but Nari remembers the first day he got the word they had came back. None of their ‘military’ was coming with them, all of their people are just peaceful scientists, or so they say. Nari doesn’t care either way as long as they don’t’ attack him, or his people, and while he is wary of them, their intentions do seem noble enough. Moreso than last time.

It’s been a long time since he last saw them, been a while since he spoke their language. It felt odd on his lips, made him shiver as he tried to pick through the different syllables of their foreign accent. Oh Nari knew that his pronunciations of their words weren’t very good, but he did know how to communicate with them, and that’s all that mattered. So few remembered that whenever he stepped up as one of those few he was commissioned as a translator, even though these humans knew the Na’vi language better than he knew their language. It was an odd feeling of regret, and excitement that they were back, but their was also a residual feeling of hate which hung over his people. It was thick in the air, and something about the faces of his people made him wonder how many shared his wonder of these people. None of them were hostile yet, which was a good thing.
“Why are you here,” Slowly I asked, the words foreign to me, but there was something which felt right about it, and he knew he was saying what he meant.
There was something about the way the woman responded which made him think she thought he wasn’t as smart as she, and it scared him as she uttered, “To learn.”
For a second Nari looked at the woman, his eyes narrowed, he knew what the word meant, but he didn’t know what they wanted to learn. Many of them thought they were perfect, that they knew more than his kin, so this was a good thing perhaps, but then again perhaps it wasn’t. Slowly he turned to the tribal leader, and whispered to him what the man had said, as he waited for the response he would get. It was this man’s job to keep the well being of the tribe at hand, and while he had forgotten the Human’s language, he was still the leader. So, Nari was a simple translator, bound to say what he must, even if that might get him killed.
“Humans told us that before,” Nari told her as he was spoken to, “and we were not given the peace offered.”
There was a hint of humour in her eyes, a slight bit of smile on her mouth as she laughed lightly into the air. Obviously she found something funny, but Aknari didn’t believe there was anything humorous about anything he had said. Perhaps he had mispronounced something, or he didn’t say a correct word, hopefully they would excuse his poor speech. Both parties must be confused, both of them must feel the strain of a bitter past, so he could understand them at least to one degree, and he could only hope nothing went wrong.
“Perhaps they did,” She started, her eyes filled with a sparkle as she continued, “but we are different, we know of what our ancestors did, and we intend to correct it.” Something genuine was in her voice, and Nari knew this person wasn’t lying, but now the challenge would be to get his people to believe the same thing he does.

Talents:
- Flying - Something which he feels is completely and totally a product of his parents, he has become an expect at flying. Not only can he do very complex aerial stunts he is also able to easily hunt from the back of an Ikran into the deep crags of the mountains which hide their complex. There have been few times he’s used his abilities to fly as a form of fighting an enemy, but he does very well in practice, and he knows if it ever came to a fight he’d be able to hold his own. There’s not much this man can’t do on the back of one of the Ikran, even if he’s not so quick on his feet.
- English - While he hasn’t had an extreme amount of interaction with humans he was taught by one of their dream walkers a while back about their way of speaking. These people who looked like him knew nothing of his culture his past, and it was oddly fulfilling to tell them of their pasts after they proved themselves worthy. In return they taught him how to speak their language, and about what their world was like. Earth, it sounded like a lonely place full of the machines of war which my parents fought hard to destroy.
