| R O K U R E |
Pronunciation: roh-KOO-ray
Location: High in the mountains to the northeast of the forest where the Aylukana dwell, the Rokure make their homes among the cliffs and caves. Here they are prone to more inclement weather, though as a general rule the climate there is cooler than it is in the lowlands.
The Rokure are far removed from most of the other tribes. Their closest neighbors are the arctic bound Tuyeteira to the north.
Special Characteristics:
- Skin color tends to be more gray-blue than true blue, in order to better help them blend in with their surroundings.
- The Rokure are one of the few clans who clothe themselves fully, particularly in the winter when the temperatures fall drastically.
- Close range hunters to prevent a potential loss of their kill should the animal flee where they cannot reach it. They prefer to get as close as they can to their target to maximize a quick to instant death for the animal.
- You will never find a better tracker than a Rokure. It is not so easy to follow your prey when it walks on stone and leaves practically no prints. They have learned the fine arts of tracking more than a footprint, and if they want to find something, they will eventually find it.
Diet:
- Mountainous varieties of hexapede and sturmbeest
- Grubs and non-toxic insects
- Fruits and vegetables as can be found growing in the region
Mounts:
- Ikran: the primary mount for the Rokure. It is a long, arduous journey down from the mountain and to Iknimaya, particularly on foot, but this ensures that the Rokure warriors are of the best, strongest stock. Bonded Ikran roost on the mountain above the tribe's home.
- Pa'li: because of the rough traveling conditions in the mountains, the Rokure do not make use of the Pa'li. It is easier, safer, and generally faster to simply go overland on foot and not risk your life to the slip of a hoof.
- Mounts/bondings not allowed: Thanator/Palulukan, Leonopteryx/Toruk, Titanothere, Viperwolf/Nantang.
Tribal Hierarchy: Led by an Olo'etykan and a Tsahik, who oversee the welfare and care of the tribe. The heir and other children of the clan leaders are respected, but as with every other Na'vi in the tribe, are expected to prove their worth by helping to care for the Rokure clan. They are offered no leniency nor are they granted special status simply because of their blood.
Politics:
Humans: Indifferent. They have almost no contact with humans, and have no desire to make any contact with them. So long as the humans do not bother them, the Rokure are content to pretend that they don't exist.
Other Na'vi: Neutral indifference. The Rokure have very little interaction with the lowland tribes, and tend to avoid the Tuyeteira if they can. An independent clan, they rely on none but themselves, and as such do not meddle in the affairs of other Na'vi.
Additional Notes: None at this time.
