Since my obsession with the movie is pretty much the reason this board exists right now, we should discuss it! What was your favorite part of the flick? For me, I'd have to say it was the first night scene with the bioluminescence. So beautiful.

My favourite... ish... GAH. I liked the whole damn movie. XD
Um, although I loved the 'bonding' scenes, and when Jake was learning about the Na'vi, and the Na'vi were just so brilliant. I mean, have you noticed in sci fi, all the aliens look exactly like humans, are insanely ugly/overweight/scary, or are just human bodies with animal heads stuck onto them? Besides the Wraith in SGA, Na'vi are the only exceptions to that typicality. Or maybe I haven't watched enough sci fi. XD Na'vi were gorgeous, I really liked that they were all tall and slender and stuff. And the landscapes were AMAZING. And I loved the Ancient Tree too.

i've seen it twice once in imax and one in 3-d its the same thing but, one was better than the other. iMax: its in 3-d, but the chairs in the theater move, as if you were in the movie. 3D: was he same without the moving chairs.
but i loved the war scene's and how they went into the avatar world and explored the world of pandora. i was actually creating an avatar rpg forum as well, and i came across this, pretty sweet man, hope to see this forum increase in na'vi people lol, xD

From the minute I bit into my popcorn and this flick came on, I was beyond taken. It helps that I've become a pretty avid Sam Worthington(Jake Sully) fan, and a long running James Cameron fan. But I'd have to say Avatar has become his masterpiece. There wasn't a single moment, character, scenery, or vehicles I disliked! I could gush for hours about this, hell, I have been at work and to friends XD

The characters were pretty realistic, I liked that too. And I know I'm blabbering about Na'vi again, but another thing I liked was their similarity to humans, like, how they thought and their feelings and such. It was awesome. =D

I've seen it twice, and Emmz, you have yet to Play FS1 and 2. There are only two alien races in that but damn... The artists apparently dregged up designs from their worst nightmares. Though the Vasudans are actually pretty cool-looking. Anyways. I loved the Banshees. They were the best part in the entire movie.

I loved this movie so damn much. It was so amazing and beautiful. I got really pissed off when one of my friends said it was "okay." I was like "WHAT?! WHAT?! FUUUUUUUUU..."
Anyways. My favorite part was when Jake bonded with his Ikran. Well, I like the part when the Ikran tried to kill him and Jake was like "HISSSSS" and the Ikran was all "RAWRRRR." XD
God, I wish I could see it again.... most amazing movie I have EVER seen.

Ikran was like rawwwwr. I CALLED IT. I called the Toruk Makto. It was so obvious. I called it the minute Jake learned about them XD I love love love the scene when Eywa 'helps', the scene with the clans gathering, when Jake was learning, AND I GOT FAIRLY PISSED every time he woke up. I was all, "I don't effin CARE about human Jake. Go back to the Hometree! DX I just couldn't bear watching him when he first came to the Hometree though. Making a tard of himself XD I get embarrased for other people though.
Tsu'tey should'nt have died :c

I would definitely have to say it was the flight scenes that were inspiring for me. While I truly was amazed at how he made the world come to life, the flight made it for me. I think the only thing that would have given me more of an adrenalin rush is actually having the chance to fly like that. From the time he went to bond with his Ikran through the battle to save the Tree of Souls, I was hooked.
3D was also the way to watch this movie. The minor things...like the ash seeming to fall around you, it really drew you in. I want to watch it in IMAX and see what the difference is.

Most impressive scenes for me were, first, the destruction of Home Tree, and then, the massive battle to save the Tree of Souls. It boggles the mind, the amount of detail put into both events, and the combination of the visual and the awe-inspiring soundtrack just...
Words fail to describe the beauty and majesty of it. Of the entire movie, in fact.
Oh, and hello all!

I also love it how Neytiri and Mo'at had a little mother/daughter moment, when she had to teach Jake their ways and she was like "Why me? That's not fair..." and Mo'at was like "Too bad." and she got all miffed <3 I love it all though

Just back from the cinema and seen the movie the...ähm...fourth time now, but somehow I think this still will not be the last time. ;D I do not have a favourite scene as such, I just love the landscapes. And the flying. I envy them the flying with the Ikran. Boah, makes me miss my hang glider, though that must pale in comparison. Oh and I did enjoy reading about Adetokunbo's "elegant" landing style on the cliff the other day. Could really see it in my mind. ;D

Oh, thanks, lol.
I love the movie. I've only seen it twice though, but I hope to see it again this week before it leaves my area for good. I live a few hours away from any IMAX or 3D screens, but I did see it the first time in 3D, which was awesome.
It is the first time I've seen a movie over two hours where I wasn't bored or could find no filler within it. I loved the first Harry Potter movie but even that one had a few moments of...come on...get moving. Only moments that compared in that one to Avatar for me were the first scenes of Diagon Alley and Hogwarts, or maybe the Quittich stuff. In Avatar, every moment is one of wonder, or humor, or incredibly human feeling.
It's great.
