With Thread long gone from the skies of Pern, the dragons are forced to come up with other ways of occupying themselves. When all of Pern has been explored, the Weyrs can support themselves without the need of tithes or charity from the Holds or Crafts, when dragons languished with naught to do, the riders of Pern looked once again to the Past, to an idea had by one of the most famous Weyrleaders of Pern, F’lar of bronze Mnementh. They looked once more to the sky.
An alternate-universe, post-AIVAS Pern RPG, Cyadon takes place on the fourth planet in Rukbat’s system, a planet made tropical by the manageable greenhouse effect that developed. The Pernese have long settled all across the planet and established their Crafts and Holds. New creatures were discovered: wolves larger than runners, capable of Impression formed a Pack at Wolf Run Hold; small, feline-like creatures with wings and strange healing capabilities were also found and utilized by the Healercraft. Even the dragons have shifted in the new environment, the colors morphing on the pink-tinted sand of tropical Cyadon, though other than the colors of their hides, they have not changed. But despite the scene of peace on this wooded, tropical planet, there is a growing undertone of unrest....
