Hi everyone!
Well, first off a very special thank you to the Admin, Aerys and Sil for the work that went into helping me draft my character profile. I'm very pleased with the end result, and enjoyed having such gentle and sharp intellects involved.

The thread I have in mind begins with a bit of a phenomena -I hope early in the thread for the two or three others involved to witness an omen.
For my own character, the omen is the catalyst that encourages him to leave his people, the Tuyeteira, on something of a journey-of-exile. Even in the frozen wastes of the arctic, Itan witnesses a wind borne seed, like those of the soul-tree, swimming through the air toward him, and bonding with his neural-queue, he receives a vision, of a white tree.
This tree, a seedling in it's first year has already put down roots and establishing vast linkages with the life around itself. In time it would grow into a peer amongst those like the Tree of Souls; or the Tree of Voices.

At this point, rather than dominate the progression of the plot from this basic concept; I hoped those interested might put forth their own ideas. What description do you think the tree might be? Souls and voices is covered; what other function might the seedling be destined to carry out?
Also; what threat should be set against our characters? A renegade band of Na'vi who have perceived this tree, and sworn to stop it's growth? -Or perhaps humans?
Enough posticulation from me for the moment. I look forward to seeing what you all think are the attractions, or the weak points of the notion.

Hmmm, this sounds interesting, but what sort of tree? Might think about it, when I am less tired.
Then it would also be a great theme of conflict.
For example, lets take the more unusual way: What if this tree endangers the tradtional Na'vi way of life?
Do the rebels actually wish to protect this?
And do the other Na'vi just defend it as a being of Eywa which must not be harmed? Even though it poses a threat?

I don't have the answers to those questions... sorreh... we'd have to make those copnjectures for ourselves.

Perhaps the most useful place to start, is to decide what is the role and function of this tree? Voices and souls is looked after... or should I say, voices was covered... perhaps it's a new tree of voices... dunno... I certainly can't imagine why some Na'vi would want it stopped. Perhaps that's the wrong angle of plot.
What could a young tree such as this possibly need? Perhaps it is crying out to it's chosen-ones to help it grow... maybe it needs to be transplanted....
