It has been one month. One month since the Joker’s reign of terror was finally stopped. One month since Harvey Dent, Gotham’s White Knight, died. One month since Batman was accused of three counts of murder and the manhunt for the rogue vigilante began.
It has been one month. One month since the Daily Planet featured Lois Lane’s front-page article on the Justice Society. One month since the heroes began to return to its ranks and to their roles as Earth’s silent guardians.
Just one month.
But a lot can happen in a month. The solar towers in Metropolis are all but complete; Zod’s followers continue to search the Earth for the Book of Rao. Lex Luthor has miraculously returned from the dead, deftly taking several holding from Tess Mercer’s grip and once more dividing Lexcorp and Luthorcorp into two rival companies. Tess knows how Lex is back. Before going to meet the Traveller with Veritas’ weapon, Lex used the very last sample of the alien DNA he had on a project to clone himself much as he once had Lana. He left Tess instructions to activate it if he should not return. But he did survive and so the project was forgotten. She has told Clark all of this, assuring him that the genetic material was taken from before Lex knew who the Traveller was, and stated that she has no idea who activated the clone. The truth is that Tess simply does not know why Agent Waller did it.
The ranks of the Justice Society have swelled with returning members and they can be seen, in a much more public way than the Blur, patrolling the skies and streets from Midway City to Keystone. Oliver, Chloe, and their band of heroes have also become more active, though they are still flying below the radar. Their two main focuses are currently Lex and Zod. However, Black Canary has been dispatched to Gotham to look into the allegations made against its resident Dark Knight; if they are true, they will aid the police in apprehending the Batman and if not, they will attempt to contact and clear the name of the vigilante just as they did with the framed members of the Justice Society.
Kara, following signs of Kandor across the cosmos, has returned to Earth where the Kandorians have finally been released. Lana, despite the danger to Clark, has been drawn back to Metropolis at the apparent resurrection of Lex. The Helmet of Nabu has mysteriously vanished, seeking a new host for Doctor Fate. A mass breakout has occurred at Arkham Asylum, eerily reminiscent of the one orchestrated by Ra’s Al Ghul. A new corporation on par with the likes of Lexcorp, Luthorcorp, Queen Industries, and Wayne Enterprises has risen, seemingly out of nowhere, headed by its young CEO: Talia Head.
It is a time of change and flux. Will you be a hero, old or new, defending the people? A villain, plotting for power or chaos? An alien, trying to find a new home on Earth… or rule it? Or perhaps you will simply be one of the many civilians who will bear witness to the…
