Name: Ila'olo (means "of the clan" in Na'vi)
Age: (how long to Na'vi live?) young adult
Secret Word: (Within the Rules there is a secret word hidden. Your job is to read through the rules thoroughly and figure out what said word is. Do not worry, it isn't difficult. Bear in mind that this task is to get you to read and comprehend our laws, not to add any further nuisance to the application process.)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Race: Na'vi
Tribe: Aylukana
Mount: Pa'li.
Ila'olo's pa'li is male. He is large and robust, and older than most of the mounts being used. His age hardly matters though, and he is just as physically fit as the rest of the pa'li out there. Usually quite quiet and reserved, when he is with Ila'olo he is obedient and protective. This pa'li is also used by other Na'vi in the tribe, but is often used by Ila'olo, who prefers his bond over other pa'li.
Physical Description: Ila'olo is a base of deep aqua. Her stripes are dark teal and fade into dark blue towards the edges of each strip. Her bio-luminescent spots have a scattered pattern to them on her body, while on her face they frame all of her features individually.
Ila'olo's facial structure is strong. She has high cheek bones and a sloping jaw line. Her chin is a rounded square, giving her a very distinct 3 quarter view. Her nose is flat and broad. Her eyes are large and bronze, with gold and green flecks, giving a hazel illusion. Her nose and lips are a pale grey-pink color. Her lips are delicate and proportionate with her face.
Her hair is tied up tightly in dread locks which flow freely from her scalp from the root. Her hair is fairly long with natural layers. There are three prominently obvious lengths: Stopping at her chin (this length is close to the face), stopping at her shoulders (the majority of her hair hits here), and stopping at her mid back. In between each of these layers there are other lengths, making her hair look less uniform and more natural. Throughout her hair she has many beads, mostly in reds and yellows.
She has many different items of clothing. For the most part, a simple loincloth is worn around her hips with beaded strings that wrap around her tail. On her top half, she wears a range of different things. Beaded necklaces, wooden or beaded chest plates, feathers, and leaves are all among her general wear. She has a simple wood-bead choker around her neck that never comes off, and her ears have 3 studs each in them. Her wrists and ankles are profusely adorned with bracelets of all kinds, and her upper arms sometimes have cuffs on them as well. Ila'olo is often seen with bows around her torso for hunting. She also has a small knife which she keeps neatly tucked on her hip between her skin and loin cloth ties.
Personality: Ila'olo is a complex creature. Once you know her well you love her, but until you do you don't find her all that likable. It isn't a specific thing that makes her off-putting to some, but an accumulation of many things. As well, it is this same accumulation that makes so many like her company.
For one thing, she has virtually no filter. She says exactly what she is thinking as she is saying this. Mostly this just makes her funny or seem a little off, because she says some pretty ridiculous things. The thing that gets others is that she has no filter for mean things or things that would come off as rude. She is very blunt and very honest. Which unfortunately for some will put her in the 'bitch' category. For others it makes her genuine.
Ila'olo is passionate. She cares too much. She will put her heart and soul into everybody she meets. Sometimes this means she will love you until the ends of the earth, and other times this means she will hate you with an extreme passion. In the end, you want to be on her good side. Because she is so blunt that she will openly and publicly either praise or shame you. With her friends she is extremely loyal and thoughtful, always there with little gifts and words of encouragement or an ear to listen. She gives a lot of advice, which sometimes isn't even wanted. But she has good intentions with her advice and tries her best not to mess anything up for the one she is advising.
As outgoing as Ila'olo usually is, she is very shy on the inside. She cannot commit to a single man because she is afraid of rejection. Contradicting herself, she loves companionship. This leads to a lot of tease-like behavior. She wants to be loved, but she is afraid of breaking bonds. Because of this fear, she doesn't let herself get too close to those she could potentially love like a mate. With friends however, she loves unconditionally and passionately, as described above.
Ila'olo likes to be included, but is usually too shy to ask to come along. She won't go with you unless you express your wish for her to do so. When she does get to come along though, she is a life of the party. Because she can be so protective of her friends, she sometimes takes a leader role in the things that they do together. She is a little controlling, but it comes from a good place.
She is fun loving and has a good sense of humor, and isn't afraid to laugh at herself. The problem here is that she isn't afraid to laugh at others either. She is slightly clumsy for a Na'vi, but this isn't too much of a problem for her. It only comes out in awkward social situations.
In all, Ila'olo is one of those girls you either really love, or you really hate. Its hard for there to be an in between, but easy to be swayed one way or the other on any given day.
Talents: Ila'olo has many talents. You can't put her in a little box and expect her to stay there. Firstly, she is a skilled hunter. She can kill her prey swiftly, usually with little suffering, and does not often miss her target. Ila'olo is also a wonderful dancer. She was born with a good sense of rhythm and as she grew she naturally became skilled in the art of movement. This is quite odd, considering her clumsy nature when standing straight up and completely still (sometimes she falls or trips over her own feet for no reason. This is due to a slight deformity in her inner ear that can affect her balance. It is not so sever that it is a handicap, it just makes her a little less graceful than some Na'vi. Obviously, she does not know about this deformity, it just is how it is). She can sing well enough but does not have a very large range to her voice. It isn't one of her strongest of strong points. Ila'olo also makes her own jewelry and loves to make little trinkets and tokens for her friends. As far as talent in personality goes, she is a very big flirt.
History: Ila'olo was born after the humans had left. By the time she came into the world, the forest was mending and the tribe had become less chaotic. She had a fairly normal childhood. Being the middle child of three molded her personality to how it is today. She had to learn to love her siblings equally and became great friends with both. Her older brother was so close in age to her that as children they did most everything together. She even went with him to watch when it was his time to bond with an Ikran.
Her younger brother and her had a slightly different relationship. They had a larger age gap between them, and she could not fully connect with him until they were both closer to adults. But once this happened, she and her little brother became almost better friends that she and her older brother were.
Her mother was (and is) very shallow. Everything was skin deep for her, and this taught her to be as brash as she is today. She and her mother had a difficult relationship for a long time, but as she grew older Ila'olo learned to take her mother for her good qualities and not her bad.
Being the only girl her father doted on her. But she was so afraid of disappointing him that she didn't let him in. Every time she spoke one on one with her father, she would have to choke out her words through tears, because she was so afraid of what he would think of her. This continued until she became more comfortable with the idea that her father would love her no matter what. An idea that took her most her life to accept.
Since the humans have returned little has changed for her. She is naturally curious of them, but very cautious. She has no problem interacting with an Avatar, but human looking humans freak her out a bit. She is doing her part to learn English, but isn't too good at it yet.

Ila’olo’s hands did not shake as she brought the string and bead closer together, slipping the string through the hole as close to her eyes as possible without poking herself. She had always been quite crafty. With that bead secure between her fingers and on the string, she took her free hand and felt around next to her for more beads, keeping her eyes on the string in hand. She pulled a bead up to her line of vision and looked at it. It was scarlet and large, with a bumpy texture like a larva. ”How do you like the color red?” She looked past her own hands at Mawey’na, her younger brother, letting the tension out of her arms and letting them fall to her knees.
He was a few feet above from her resting on a tree branch, his head facing away from her as he looked distantly into the forest. He picked up a rock and tossed it out of the tree, ”I like it if you do.” he said, not even bothering to look at her.
She furrowed her brow. Seeing Mawey’na like this worried her. He was usually just as enthusiastic as she was. Delicately, she placed the trinket she was making on the branch she was sitting on and rose up from her spot. She climbed the tree until she was next to him, crouching with one arm holding her legs and the other stabilizing her on the branch. ”Why won’t you look?” Ila’olo got in his face, forcing him to look directly at her. He hissed, pushing her face away from his. She let out a shrill sound in protest. ”Why.” she pushed his shoulder but he hardly moved, ”Talk to me now.” She moved herself in front of his face again, her eyes searching his face for any sign of reason.
He avoided her gaze, but spoke, ”Tomorrow I am bonded.” he said, referring to becoming bonded to an Ikran.
She laughed, ”And you worry you will fail?” he looked at her with hurt in his gaze, ”Mawey’na, you will not fail. You are strong. You are smart. You are going to be a warrior!” She took her hands and shook him at the shoulders. He let himself be limp and moved with her arms, slowly looking away from her and smiling. She laughed loudly, and soon he did with her. Ila’olo knew exactly what to say to cheer her brother up, not that she had to often. She pushed him and he braced himself to the tree, still laughing. He bushed her back, and she in turn braced herself. She pushed him again, and he her. This time he shoved a little too hard, and she would have fallen if he hadn’t grabbed her arm to support her. She laughed again, slapping his hand away from her arm, ”How do you like red then?”
